Sadie's New Babysitter!
It is finally settled and what a relief it truly is. As of this past Tuesday, Sadie has a permanent in home childcare to attend. She will be staying with a lady named Sheryl. This lady has been keeping children for 17 years and keeps four other small kids. She has a 9 month old, sadie, 2 two year old girls, and a 2 year old boy. We are very excited for Sadie to interact with other children and learn more about life. This lady is super organized and does several organized activities (art, playtime outside, story-time, nap-time, quiet time)! Sadie will begin staying with her on August 18th. Thank you so much for all of your prayers. It's cool to see God provide in HIS perfect timing once again!

God Provides Once Again!
JJ and I were reminded once again of how awesome God is. As most of you know he has been looking for a new job for about 9 months now. He now has a job as a Biology Teacher and it is at the same school that I work at. JJ will also be coaching cross country. We are very excited to see what is in store with this next transition in life. We're now just trying to find someone to keep Sadie in the fall. If anyone has any recommendations, please let us know. Thanks so much! I just thought I would share the good news and praise! More to come later!

Honduras Gift!
Beach Bound with the Barbour's!
The Johnston family has truly been on the go the past couple of weeks. We just returned to NC from AZ and my parents asked us if we wanted to go to Myrtle Beach. Well, of course we're not going to pass up a good trip to Myrtle Beach with family fun. We played in the pool and played at the beach and wrapped the trip up by shopping at the outlets. It was truly a very relaxing weekend and we had a blast!

Trip to AZ!
So, for the past week we have been in Arizona. Our good friends Sarah and Mike were getting married and JJ was asked to be a groomsman. We had a wonderful time and Sadie did great on the plane. I honestly made her a palate beside my feet and she slept the entire trip. We were very pleased and very blessed. We stayed with some good friends and really enjoyed our time with them. The wedding was great and they were very cute together. We enjoyed shopping at some really cool malls. It was honestly crazy because there were HUGE malls like every two exits in Arizona. JJ watched a couple of movies, we went to the pool, and hung out with some other people. The last day, JJ and I had the opportunity to go tubing. That was awesome and probably the highlight of our trip. The water was freezing because it comes from the Colorado River which comes from the amount of snowfall that they had this year. It was so amazing to me that the water was so cold, but it was 113 degrees outside. The coolest thing about tubing was the scenery around you. You are surrounded by huge canyons! I must say that I was little scared before we went. I was watching the news and it showed a guy missing who had disappeared in the Salt River (the exact place we were going). I was pretty calmed until we were tubing and this HUGE helicopter came flying over us searching for dead body. Then there was a news anchor hiding out in the canyon filming us tube. Then to top it off, these HUGE fan boats come flying straight towards us. I am thinking it's a bunch of drunk guys boating (like in NC). They then swerve around us and what do we read-----Sherriff----they were also searching for the dead body along with divers! So after JJ calmed me down I was able to enjoy the next hour of the tubing that was left. It was AWESOME!!! It was also nice just spending time with JJ without Sadie or others around. We are now back home and getting adjusted to everyday life again. We're trying to catch up on our sleep that we lost. Here are some pictures from the trip. The canyons you see are where we tubed. We couldn't get pictures of us tubing because the camera would get wet and destroyed!
Oh how the years fly by!
So on June 30th Shelley turned the big 30. I can truly say that I don't feel any different even though I know that I am going older an growing gray hairs. My mom and dad came the Sunday before my birthday. They surprised me by showing up after church at my house. They had my favorite meal fixed and also brought my sister, aunt carolyn, and granny along with them. It was truly special and I must say that the cherry cream pie was one awesome substitute for a cake. Monday was my birthday. I did a couple of swim lessons and then JJ and Sadie took me out to Olive Garden. We never go there because JJ doesn't really care for pasta. When we arrived to the Olive Garden I was walking up to the door and the first thing I saw was Logan. Radez and Elizabeth and driven all the way from Apex to be with me for my birthday. I was so excited and it was the best gift I could have received. We had a blast talking and drinking cups of wine at the Olive Garden. I did get a new camera from mom and dad and I absolutely love it. It takes the picture immediately, so now I won't miss any of those cute faces that Sadie makes. I got some other cute things from people and now we'll wait for the next holiday......our anniversary....July 13th!
Radez's Begin Next Stage of Life!
So, we were very saddened to know that our best friends were moving away. We had always hoped to have our children grow up together down the street. Well, they can still grow up together, just not down the street. At the end of June Elizabeth, Radez, and Logan moved to Apex where Radez will be closer to work. They were very excited to be moving into a very family friendly neighborhood. Despite us not wanting them to leave, we still through them a going away party. There were lot's of people here to say their goodbyes. Here is picture of a few of the ones left at the end! We now wish them the best and look forward to visiting them soon!
