Walking = Disaster!

I had just got home from work, so I immediately went to the bathroom and left Sadie playing with her toys in the den. She then made her way to more fun, which I found soon after. She somehow managed to figure out how the toilet paper comes off in the guest bathroom and she pulled it all the way to her room. Needless to say it was a mess, but pretty funny. Here is a cute picture and then she runs to me when she sees that I am looking at her and she figures out that it is a "NO"!!!!!

Strong Willed......Where could that have come from?

Okay, so since Sadie turned one, she has started this thing at home. It is called "I don't need an afternoon nap". She only does it at our house and it's pretty weird. She goes into her crib and never takes a nap. She seriously lays in there for two hours talking and eating her toes and then after two hours sometimes she finally falls asleep. In the picture below, I guess she just got tired of herself and gave up. She must have definitely got her strong will from mom and dad!

Pool Time!

Yesterday, we were all off work, so we got Sadie's pool out that Aunt Amanda gave her and had her try it out. She was a little nervous to begin with, but then she played for a while. She loved going down the slide, but she really loved getting in and out of the pool, so that got old very quick. She then went and played at her sandbox where she had a lot more fun!

Johnston Visit!

We went down to Roanoke Rapids to visit the Johnston's this weekend. We had an enjoyable time and everyone loved spending time with Sadie. Sadie also got to meet her Great Grandma for the first time, so that was very special to her!

Mike's birthday

So, Friday night JJ and I drove up to Rocky Mount to celebrate Mike's birthday. The Thompson's surprised him with a cookout. So, here are a couple of really cute pictures (although I have none of the birthday boy)! Please take notice that Sadie is on a John Deere tractor, which she loved!

First wedding of the summer!

My handsome cousin got married yesterday to his beautiful bride, Tammy! They're going to be living in Texas where Travis is stationed, hopefully until he is discharged or transferred. Here are some pictures from the rehearsal dinner and wedding! I must say the place that the wedding was at, was absolutely beautiful, and you couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day!

Strawberry Patch

Last week Sadie spent the day with the Ellis's. Lisa took her and Caden to the Strawberry farm. Needless to say they both had a good time. Sadie had no problem eating the strawberry (just as she does everything else). Cute pictures of these two!

Mother's Day!

My first year as a Mother has been wonderful. I love my daughter and how much she has brought our family. As I think back a year ago, I am reminded of so many things that I have learned. I must say that it is nice to be sleeping more than I was last year at this time. My Mother's Day was very special. I woke up and JJ and Sadie gave me a card and some chocolate candies and there was also a pedicure in the card, so that was very nice. We then went to Benson to spend time with my mom and carry on the tradition of going to church there (although sadie didn't do well in church, but that is another blog in itself). We then went to the annual dinner at Grandma's and then got together for the annual dinner at Granny's. The day was filled with lot's of family time and I was reminded of how special it is to be raised by so many loving people. Here are a few pics from the special day!

It's Official---Sadie is ONE!!!!!!

What a year it has been! It's hard to believe that one year ago Sadie was born and we were basically getting NO sleep. It's been an exciting year watching her drink lot's of milk and then eating lot's of food, and playing with fun toys, waiting for her to crawl, wishing for her to walk, and now chasing her around. It's all a blessing from the Lord and we are truly blessed. We look forward to building many more memories with our family and friends as we raise Sadie into a beautiful young woman. Sadie also had her doctor's appointment for her yearly check-up. She weighed 17 pounds 8 ounces and she was 27.5 inches long. She was on about the 10th percentile. Here are some pictures from her birthday party here in Greenville. Thanks to all who came out for the fun and fellowship!

Henderson Visit!

Brian, Rachel, and Abby came down from CT to visit this past week. It was really neat seeing and catching up with them. We ended up having a lot of people over so that they could see them also. I loved seeing Sadie and Abby interact with each other. It was really neat because they are only a week apart. Over-all it was a nice relaxing visit with lot's of friends!

She is not one yet, but.........

Sadie does not turn one until May 7th, but Pa-Pa and Nanny are going to be out of town for her birthday and they wanted to do something special for her family in Benson. Needless to say Sadie gets like a million birthday parties. Mom and Dad gave her one last weekend and it was really nice. Sadie got lot's of cool things, but the most important part was being with family. I must say the funniest part was seeing Sadie with her own cake. You'll have to check the pictures out because NO words can explain this mess.
