Dennis and Donna

Last weekend my cousin, Donna got married. She got married on the beach at Fort Macon. I must say that it was very simple and absolutely beautiful. There were only family and friends invited and that was more than enough. They both looked so happy together and it was a nice reminder of how we are truly captured by "love". Here are a lot of pictures from the weekend. The day after, some of us hung out on the beach for the afternoon. LOT'S OF FAMILY FUN!!!!

Visit with Radez's!

Oh, how I miss my friend Elizabeth. Sadie and I took a trip up to Apex just before school started to wish Elizabeth a happy birthday and spend some time with her and Logan. I must say that it was very refreshing to spend time with them and especially to catch up with Elizabeth. We took the kids to Jordan Lake and we had a very enjoyable time. Logan actually slept through most of the fun, but Sadie had enough fun for both of them. I sure hope we get to see them again soon. We miss them very much!

Sadie and Mama!

Well the summer is officially over for me and Sadie. Sadie has made it to the babysitter and she has transitioned very well. She is learning so very much in the short time that she has been there. She can tell you where are eyes, nose, mouth, ear, and head is located. She is also very talkative as usual (must get that from her daddy). She has other girls her age to play with and then two boys to play with also. She has adapted so well and I am so proud of her. She does cry a bit when I drop her off, but it's probably because she is so used to being around me all summer. Here is a cute picture of us before she started with the babysitter. There is also a video of Sadie trying to hop (she wants to jump so bad after being with me at volleyball practice and seeing the girls jump so much). She also loves to rock in the video rocker as you will see.

Splash, Splash, Splash

This summer has been filled with several trips to the pool and the beach. Sadie has loved the water everytime that she has been. Our friend Macey (also called our daughter by many) has been on a few trips with us. This was our last trip together to the beach. We had a really good time and we also had fun with our friends Bill and Lisa. Below you will find some of the fun pictures and one little video of Sadie liking the pool and then running from mama. One of the highlights had to be burying Macey at the beach and then looking for those sand crabs later that night. We look forward to many more trips together and maybe Trey will even get to come sometime soon!

Goodbye Mike!

As most of you know, Mike got married at the beginning of July. Well, last Thursday, he left Greenville for good. He came by for a quick visit with us and I must say the departure was quite sad. I know that we will miss him so much but we also know that he'll love it in AZ (especially being with his wife). Here is a cute picture of Sadie giving him his last goodbye kiss. The other picture was just a cute picture of us and I had no where to put it!

First trip away!

Sadie had her first getaway last week. She got to stay with Papa and Me-maw! She did great and mommy didn't even have a hard time. I must admit that I was there when she went to bed because I had been picking beans that evening. So, it's a bit of a cheat, but I did leave her and she did a very good job. I guess JJ and I can go away on a trip now. This picture is so cute. It is the same suitcase that I used as a little girl. It says, "going to grandma's". I think it is very special to had this down to my own daughter.

Logan's Birthday!

Logan is one now! Radez and Elizabeth came down to Greenville a couple of weeks ago to celebrate Logan's first birthday. They asked if they could have it here since they don't know very many people in Apex yet. Of course I said yes and we had a wonderful time. I must say that Logan was a bit different than Sadie on her birthday. He didn't really care about eating the cake. Sadie had to get up there and show him how it was done. He loved it with a little assistance. He got lot's of cool gifts and we enjoyed our time with our close friends. We look forward to spending more time with them very soon.

Sadie feeds herself!

It's been a while since I updated the blog. Sorry for the delay. It's been a very busy summer. Sadie has took leaps and bounds in her development. She is continuing to grow up more and more each day. She is talking more and more. She is a bit confused about her daddy though. She recently started calling him JJ. I guess she hears everyone else calling him that and assumes that she is supposed to do the same thing. She loves being in the pool and playing outside. She has also spent a lot of time with mommy at the school this summer. I have been pretty busy with volleyball and getting things organized for the athletic department. It has still been a very exciting summer and I have enjoyed spending it with Sadie (although I am ready for the babysitter). The lastest thing that she has accomplished is feeding herself. It has been very exciting and not quite as messy as I had thought! She loves to do it by herself now and really doesn't want any help. If we can just get her to 20 lbs, I will be happy so that we can turn that carseat around!
